Youth activists on Satyagraha break fast-onto-death

As the government has agreed to the demands of the campaign Enough is Enough, such as allocating the people after entering the country from aboard to required quarantine for five days and only after that they should be allowed to stay self quarantine only after testing. The government has agreed to quit the use of RDT tests and increase the PCR testing.

KATHMANDU: The two Youths activities Iih and Pukar Bam have broken their hunger strike on Tuesday at HAMS hospital with the 12-point agreement with the Health Minister Bhanubhakta Dhakal by submitting their demands after last twelve days. As both Youths activities had been admitted to the hospital on July 2, 2020, after their hunger strike condition deteriorated as they were staying Satyagraha at Patan Durbar Square in Lalitpur.

An agreement has been reached between the Ministry Health and Population and youth activists on a fast-onto-death, Satyagraha, today.

Senior specialists Dr. Roshan Pokharel, and Joint-Spokesperson Dr. Samir Kumar Adhikari, on the behalf of the Ministry and Binjwala Shrestha and Dr. Santosh Poudel on the behalf of satyagraha group, signed the 12-point pact. With the agreement, the youths staging fast-unto-death, have broken the hunger strike.

The 12-point agreement includes test from PCR method for the identification of coronavirus infected people, PCR test of all abroad returnees should be carried out, re-establishing those staying in quarantine and test negative for coronavirus in the society, revising the directives and guidelines issued for the test and quarantine as per the decision of Supreme Court and sending the circular to the Finance Ministry for the release of details about the expenditure of COVID-19, Labour Ministry regarding workers and Home Ministry on other issues within a week.
