BHAKTAPUR: Chairman of CPN-UML youth wing Youth Association Nepal (YAN ), Mahesh Basnet , has claimed that the people should seize the illegal properties of UCPN-Maoist earned through corruption if the state fails to investigate them.
He said YAN will assist the public if needed to seize the illegal money of the UCPN-Maoist. Speaking at a program in Bhaktapur on Friday he claimed that Maoist leaders have acquired billions of rupees by looting country and its people, so, the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) and other state bodies should conduct money laundering investigation and book the culprits.
He said the YAN has also pressurized the concerned authorities to look into the irregularities in Maoist cantonments. He also claimed that the Maoist leaders were involved in the game of commission in the name of upgrading the capacity of Upper Trishuli 3A Hydropower Project. He also claimed that Maoist leaders pocketed nearly 20 million rupees
Basnet said the YAN has learnt that the leaders pocketed nearly Rs 20 million in the name of the project. “The people won’t tolerate it,” he added. Also on the occasion, Basnet said YAN will raise voice against Maoist excesses in the coming days.
