Woman held on charge of burning husband to death

KATHMANDU: Police here arrested a woman on the charge of burning her husband to death.
The Metropolitan Police Range, Thimi detained Geeta Nepal on the accusation of locking up her spouse Bidur Nepal from Sipamankha, Sindhupalchowk from outside their rented room at Purano Thimi of Madhyapur Thimi Municipality-6 and setting him on fire Monday night.
Geeta is his first wife and the incident happened as his second wife had been at her parental home.
According to Range deputy superintendent of police Krishna Prasai, it has been guessed that Nepal’s first wife took such drastic move in short temper as she was not happy with her husband for his second marriage. She allegedly locked Bidur inside the room, set fire and fled the scene.
Police said further investigation into the case is underway. The husband was rescued alive, was rushed to the Madhyapur Hospital from where he was referred to the Norvic International.
