Wife found dead, status of husband still unknown


SOLUKHUMBU: Of a couple who had gone missing here since last Wednesday, wife Lakpa Diki Sherpa was found dead on Saturday evening. The body of Lakpa Diki was found near local Handikhola (stream), said the Area Police Office, Lukla.

However, status of her husband Fu Dorjee Sherpa is still unknown, according to Police Inspector Prem Prasad Niroula.

The Sherpa couple is believed to have gone missing while they were returning home at Nabuk, Chaunrikharka after selling milk, said police.

Belongings of Fu Dorjee including pants and bag were found as they were swept away by the river.
He is also feared to be dead.

The body of Lakpa Diki has been handed over to her family and search for Fu Dorjee is underway, police said. RSS
