Visit Nepal Year-2020 targeted Temal hiking kicks off


Rajkumar Parajuli, KAVRE: A hiking programme focusing on Visit Nepal Year-2020 has kicked off in Temal. The hiking campaign has been put in place to promote tourism programme at historical Temal of Kavrepalanchowk in view of Visit Year.
The campaign has started with the slogan ‘Youth Campaign for Temal Development’. Temal is a historical place of Tamang community. “The hiking campaign has been initiated to onboard youths in tourism development of Temal region”, said Nabina Lama, a member of the federal parliament.
It has been taken as a prior preparation of the Visit Nepal Year-2020 floated by the government to attract more foreign tourists.
The hiking that started from Temal rural municipality-7, Chapakhori concluded in Tongsom Kunda at Pokharinarayansthan, Yangbel.
It took four hours to complete hiking through panoramic hilltops. A group of 40 youths had participated in the first-ever hiking at Temal.
Foreigners will also be encouraged to come and joy hiking in the area, she said, adding, “This is the only beginning and it is targeted to the Visit-Nepal 2020. Local youths will host the events frequently”.
In course of the hiking, tourism entrepreneur Karna Lama and Leela Bahadur Lama, chair of the Henjen Dorje Foundation, had briefed the group about local hilltops, monastery and potential tourism hotspots.
Timal Singh Tamang, chairperson of Temal rural municipality, ward-2, said they are effortful to establish the hiking campaign. RSS
