BANEPA: The District Education Office, Kavre has formed Village Education Committee in 26 VDCs here. The committee has been formed to make the compulsory and free basic education pilot programme, implemented in 22 VDCs of Kavre to increase access of poor and disadvantaged children to school, effective, said the district education office.
The committee comprises in-charge of resource centre, VDC representatives and other as per the need.
Mahandas Lama of District Education Office, Kavre said the committee would help provide decision-making right to local body on educational affairs.
It is noted that Rs 15,000 each has been appropriated for the committee formed through resource centre in the district.
The district education office said the compulsory and free basic education programme has been launched as a part of school enrolment campaign. RSS
