Vietnamese American Community donated 40 million for earthquake Victim
Bijay Thapa, Washington DC: The Vietnamese American community in the United States expressed sadness over the loss of life and massive destruction caused by the earthquake in Nepal. A group of people from the community reached the Nepalese Embassy last week and handed an amount of Nepali 40 million to the Honorable Ambassador Mr. Arjun Kumar Karki. The fund was collected in association and initiation of the Saigon Broadcasting Television Network (SBTN) which has been broadcasting from California since 2001.
While receiving the amount the ambassador Mr. Karki thanked The Vietnamese American community for their support. According to Ambassador the amount will be deposited to Prime Minister Disaster and Relief Fund and will be spent accordingly. The Saigon Broadcasting Television Network representing the The Vietnamese American community in the United States expressed the heartfelt condolences and sympathy and remarked that they could do that much in such a excruciating situation of Nepal. Consular Narayan Prasad Mainali told us that the amount was raised by television network with their audience, well-wishers for supporting victim of 25th April Earthquake. With the representatives from The Saigon Broadcasting Television Network (SBTN) lead by the Vice-President Anh Tuan Du Fu and one of the board of director of the communities Dr. Binh T. Nugenako has handed the amount.
