United States extends best wishes on the occasion of Nepali New Year


KATHMANDU: As all Nepali people are set to celebrate the Nepali New year on Sunday, President of United States Barrack Obama has extended best wishes to all Nepali people on the occasion.

Issuing a statement on behalf of President Obama US Secretary of State John Kerry wished Happy New Year 2070 to all the Nepali people.

“This is opportunity to celebrate national unity and goodwill in Nepal, and for people of Nepalese heritage around the world to reflect on new beginnings and possibilities,” the statement issued by Kerry stated.

The statement also hoped that the election would take place in the New Year and the country moves towards peace and stability.

“As Nepal’s steadfast friend, the United States hopes that the coming year will see successful elections and the full completion of a new constitution, keeping your country on the path of prosperity and progress. We look forward to continuing our strong friendship with the Nepali people in the New Year,” he said.
