Unborn child killed by father in Rolpa, Nepal

ROLPA:- A seven-month infant has died after the expecting mother was severely beaten up by the father of the child.

Kumari BK,20, a resident of Bhorna in Runtigadhi rural municipality-3 was assaulted by her husband Kule BK,23, leading to the incident, according to the District Police Office, Rolpa. Kumari, who sustained serious injuries to her head and body as a result of the assault, was rushed to the local health center where she gave birth to a lifeless baby, said the Office spokesperson Shanker Khadka.

Kumari is undergoing treatment at the health center in Holeri. Meanwhile, the husband has been arrested by police. Further investigation is underway while a case shall be filed against Kule for committing an offense against fetus protection. If found guilty, he will be sentenced to five years in jail, police said.
