CHITWAN:- During the UML General Convention, 2500 security personnel will be deployed. The District Security Committee has informed that 1,500 Nepal Police and Armed Police Force will be deployed in Chitwan and 1,000 in Nawalparasi respectively. Additional Inspector General of Nepal Police Sahakul Thapa and Additional Inspector General of Armed Police Pushparam KC are in Chitwan to provide security.
Security will be beefed up at Sauraha, the venue of the convention and closed session. As Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, former prime ministers and foreign guests will be attending the convention, the local administration has prepared security arrangements and strategy accordingly.
On the inauguration day, security arrangements have been made in the main urban areas of Narayangarh and Bharatpur areas so that the essential vehicles are not stopped. The administration has also stated that the vehicles coming from the East-West Highway and Narayangadh-Muglin road section have also been managed through alternative routes.
