KATHMANDU: D A delegation of around two dozens of CPN (UML) district presidents on Monday had a meeting with Party Chairman Jhalanath Khanal, drawing the attention of the party leadership towards its failure to come up with clear views on federalism.
Accusing the party leadership of failing to take a stand on the issues of federalism and thereby letting the Constituent Assembly get dissolved, they have stressed the party leadership should play a positive role to settle the intra-party disputes on federalism emerged after the CA dissolution.
CPN (UML) Bhojpur district president Sherdhan Rai and Rajendra Kumar Rai of Dhankuta were among those in the delegation.
In response, Party Chairman Khanal said the party was committed to ensuring equal rights to all castes and communities in the new constitution.
It may be noted that after the CA dissolution, party Vice Chairman Ashok Rai and other leaders have warned of quitting the party reasoning that the party had not accepted the single identity-based federalism. RSS
