N24 Correspondent, KATHMANDU:- Senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal’s faction central members have decided not to attend the central committee meeting convened by the CPN-UML for today.
Dissolving the Organizing Committee of the Tenth General Convention, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, who is also the chairperson, convened a meeting of the Central Committee. A meeting has been called for 11 a.m. Friday.
According to party office secretary Sher Bahadur Tamang, a central committee meeting will be held in Baluwatar.
A meeting of the standing committee of the Nepali side held at a hotel in Buddhanagar on Thursday had decided not to participate in the central committee meeting to be held on Friday.
Vice-Chairman Yubaraj Gyawali said that it was decided not to participate as the meeting was convened without consensus.
“Today’s meeting is illegal. Therefore, we will not participate in such meetings, “he said.” We are in favor of party unity. There should be an initiative for this. Formal talks should begin now. ‘
The Nepali side has said that an agreement should be reached through talks and discussions between the two sides to bring the party back to the structure of 2075 BS. According to the Nepali side, no agreement was reached on the agenda before the meeting.
Chairman Oli had transformed the General Convention Organizing Committee into a Central Committee.
