UAE government’s announcement to grant citizenship to prominent foreign nationals

UAE Vice President and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has said that UAE citizenship will be granted to talented people including investors, doctors, engineers and artists. According to him, foreigners and their family members can hold dual citizenship.

N24 Correspondent, UAE:- The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has decided to grant citizenship to prominent foreign nationals.

The UAE government made the announcement after thousands of foreigners fled the UAE due to the epidemic of corona infection and falling oil prices.

UAE Vice President and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has said that UAE citizenship will be granted to talented people including investors, doctors, engineers and artists. According to him, foreigners and their family members can hold dual citizenship.

The aim is to attract people who can contribute to the UAE’s development journey, said Maktoum, the ruler of Dubai.

According to The National, a newspaper published from Abu Dhabi, the new arrangement will benefit foreign nationals who specialize in certain fields.

According to the announced provision, a separate application for UAE citizenship is not required.

The UAE’s royal family and government officials will prepare a list to grant citizenship to any foreign national.

The final decision on whether to approve the list will be made by the Council of Ministers.
