
KATHMANDU: The ward office of Melamchi municipality-10 in the district was set ablaze today morning. Furniture and documents were burnt in the fire, said Inspector Mahendra Darnal, adding that who torched the office is yet to be known, and investigations were on.
Likewise, an unidentified group of around six people torched the office of ward-1 of Kakani rural municipality in Nuwakot district on Tuesday night, said the police. Furniture, equipment and documents were burnt down in the arson, said ward chair Chandra Bahadur Shrestha (Balami). A two-room concrete building being used by an organisation in the ward office premises has also suffered cricks on the walls, he said. Investigations were on, said the police.
