Two arrested with 3.360 kilogrammes golden jewelry from TIA


KATHMANDU:- A team of Nepal Police here today made public two people who were arrested with a huge amount of golden jewelry from Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu.
Police had recently arrested Bodhraj Bhandari, 30, of Badagoriya Rural Municipality-1 in Kailali district and Murariraj Adhikari, 47, of Janakpur Sub-Metropolitan City-2 in Dhanusha district who were about to board a flight from Kathmandu to Biratnagar in Morang district with 3.360 kilogramme of gold.
They were nabbed during a routine security check at the airport, police said, adding that the jewelry they were carrying were worth over Rs 22 million.
Bhandari was held with 22 carat gold jewelry and so was his travel companion and alleged accomplice Adhikari. Some jewelry were studded with precious stone too, according to the police.
Police have sent the arrested ones to the Department of Revenue Investigation at Pulchowk in Lalitpur district for further investigation and action, police said.
