KATHMANDU:- Police have arrested two persons for their alleged involvement in trafficking a 13-year-old girl to India.
The Anti-Human Trafficking Bureau of Nepal Police also rescued the trafficked girl from Lalitpur Metropolitan City.
According to Superintendent of Police (SP) Govinda Thapaliya, the arrested ones are Krishna Magar and Prabin Tamang of Sindhupalchowk district. Magar was temporarily staying in Sunsari district while Tamang was temporarily staying in Lakeside, Pokhara.
SP Thapaliya shared in a press statement released by the Bureau today that the duo had lured the baby girl for a lucrative job in India. Police, acting on a tip-off searched and rescued from Rasalpur in India on June 12 with the support from the Indian police service.
The arrested ones had taken the girl from Kathmandu on February 23. They had reached Rasalpur in Uttar Pradesh of India. Police have forwarded investigation into the case by lodging a case against them as per the Human Trafficking and Transportation (Control) Act-2064, SP Thapaliya said.
