“Twilight” star Kristen Stewart to play Princess Diana in the upcoming biopic movie “Spencer”
Stewart will cast as Princess Diana in a biopic Spencer, directed and produced by Pablo Larraíne and scripted by Steven Knight as reported.
The story is said to take place over three days during one of Diana’s final Christmases at the House of Windsor in their Sandringham estate in Norfolk, England.
Pablo explained that the film will not deal with Diana’s tragic death, but instead focus on her marriage to Charles and the close relationship she had with her children Prince William and Prince Harry.
A story is about the identity of a woman who decides not to be a queen and realizes that she wants a life before she met Charles, said Larrain.
Diana and Charles got engaged on February 24, 1981, and married on July 29, 1981, which made her the Princess of Wales. In the late 1980s, their marriage disintegrates due to Charles affsir’s with Camilla Parker Bowles. Diana and Charles separated in 1992 and finally divorced in 1996.
Diana passed way in a car crash on August 31, 1997, in the Pont de l’Alma tunnel in Paris, France. Henri Paul, her driver also died in the crash. She was buried on an island within the grounds of Althorp Park, the Spencer family home.
However, production on “Spencer” is said to begin in early 2021.
