KATHMANDU: Tribhuvan Army Club has won the Karnali Premier League by defeating New Horizon Butwal by 59 runs in the finals on Saturday.
Elected to bat first after winning the toss, Army Club made 146 runs at the loss of six wickets. In the chase of the 147 runs target, New Horizon Butwal was restricted to only 87 runs in 18.3 overs.
Hari Bahadur Chauhan hit the highest 56 runs for Tribhuvan Army Club. Likewise, Raju Karki contributed 34 runs and Bhim Sarki remained undefeated on 21. Jitendra Mukhiya and Sahab Alam claimed three wickets each for Tribhuvan Army Club. Mukhiya conceded eight runs in three overs and Alam 13 in three overs.
For New Horizon Butwal, Bishal Sunar made 26 runs, Nischal Chaudhary 19 and Rahul Prajapati 12. Likewise, Sunil Dhamala hit 11.
Winner Tribhuvan Army Club received Rs 500,000, while first runner up got Rs 200,000. Captain of New Horizon Butwal Shakti Gauchan was declared the best player of the match. He got Rs 50,000. Likewise, captain of hosts Karnali-11 Rabindra Jung Shahi was announced the best batsman, and Sushan Bhari of Tribhuvan Army Club the best bowler. Both of them received Rs 20,000 each.
