Trader arrested over the 88 kg gold scam


KATHMANDU: Police have arrested President of Nepal-China Kerung Trade Association Man Bahadur Tamang in connection with the confiscation of 88 kgs of gold illegally imported into the country. 

The yellow metal was found hidden in a jeep (Ba.17Cha.6427) from Chettrapati of Kathmandu on August 4. Tamang was arrested by a team of Metropolitan Crime Division from Kathmandu today.
Tamang was arrested for investigation after his involvement was found in the 88 kgs gold scam, said Chief of the Division SSP Diwas Lohani. So far police have arrested, Ganesh Dutta Badu of Karyabinaya Gold Shop in Ranjana trade centre, Satya Narayan Agrawal of Rabishyam Traders, Nardevi, Shuva Ratna Shakya of Shakya Gold Shop, Bangemudha, Ullas Dinkar Salukhe of Siddhanath gold shop in Out and Nandra Kumar Magar of Pashupati Gold Shop, Otu in connection with their involvement in the scam.
