ToT of NC leaders conclude; leaders claim election should take place at any cost

BANKE: Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala has said that everyone has the right to not take part in an election, but not to foil it. Speaking at an interaction in Banke on Tuesday, leader Koirala said the Constituent Assembly (CA) election would be held on the announced date even if some boycott it.

“Election is the significant democratic right of the people, so, those who intended to obstruct the election would be boycotted by the people,” he added. “Those people who have been stating that election will not be held want to push the nation towards anarchy”, NC President Koirala said.

Meanwhile, NC President Koirala today made a field inspection of the Rapti flood–affected Tepari at Holiya VDC in the district. On the occasion, the flood victims complained of lack of proper shelter, assistance and long-term project to control the floods.

Similarly, the four-day-long national training of trainers (ToT) conducted by the central policy and training academy of the Nepali Congress targeting the election to the Constituent Assembly (CA) concluded Tuesday.

Addressing the concluding ceremony, Nepali Congress leader Sher Bahadur Deuba said that the upcoming election was not for forming the new government but for drafting a democratic constitution and the democratic forces should be victorious. He claimed that the NC would be victorious if cadres reach the people´s doorsteps by being united and winning the people´s trust.

Similarly, NC Vice-president Ram Chandra Poudel said that election would be held irrespective of CPN-Maoist joining or boycotting the election. Poudel claimed that casting vote for the NC was strengthening the democracy. As many as 300 representatives from all the 75 districts attended the ToT program.
