KATHMANDU: Tokha municipality is to provide an incentive allowance of Rs 50 per kg locusts to those catching locusts at their wards.
The municipality has forwarded this plan to control locusts as it has been seen as a challenge for the agro sector of the country. Mayor Prakash Adhikari said that they have announced to provide the amount as an incentive to control the locusts as they started destroying crops grown in large areas. The municipality has urged farmers to use pesticides from 6:00 am to 8:00 am and 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm after identifying the locusts’ habitat to control it.
