TMLP warns protest if farmers problems not resolved


RAJBIRAJ: The Terai Madhes Loktantrik Party ( TMLP) Saptari has warned to take to streets saying the Koshi Western Pump Canal did not release water in Saptari.

The party warned this at a press meet organized Tuesday in the party office in Rajbiraj.

TMLP Chairman Ramprit Yadav said they will stage sit in at the District Administration Office and lock out the pump canal and agriculture company as they did not give fertilizers seeds and water for irrigation.

Yadav warned that the problems of farmers were not heeded and that they will agitate in the district headquarters. He informed that not even 25 percent of seeds have been grown in Saptari and planted rice has dried up.
