
KATHMANDU: Three persons, including two children, were burnt to death in a fire that broke out in a four-storey house in Damaitole, just 400 meters from Basantapur Durbar Square in Kathmandu.
The deceased have been identified as Devkala Magar Chaudhary (50) of Morang and two sons of Raj Kumar Siwakoti of Dolakha, Sanjeev (3) and Rajiv. The house belonged to Hanumandas Dangol and the deceased were his tenants.
According to police, the fire engulfed the house after a kerosene stove burst in Chaudhary’s room on the first floor at around 7 pm before it spread to other parts of the house. The two children were on the third floor when the incident occurred.
