KATHMANDU: The Federation of Nepalis Journalists (FNJ) has expressed its sorrow over the demise of the FNJ’s former central member and Humla’s chapter founder president Jaya Bahadur Rokaya.
In a press statement issued by the general secretary of the FNJ, Ramesh Bista, today, the umbrella organization of the journalists in the country, expressed the condolence over the demise of Rokaya.
Rokaya, a local of Simkot Rural Municipality-5 in Humla district passed away on August 1 at his residence. He was 62.
The FNJ said that Rokaya’s death has caused the loss of an active journalist and the Humla chapter of FNJ had lost a guardian. Rokaya had actively contributed to the development of professional journalism in Karnali State. He was associated with the Kantipur daily for a long time.
Praying for the peace to the departed soul, FNJ extended condolences to the family of the deceased. Rokaya is survived by two spouses, four sons, and a daughter.
