The best article was awarded by the Film Journalists Association
KATHMANDU: The Coronavirus, a joint body of journalists writing in the genre of Nepali film, has won four articles in the competition on the report, essay, and opinion based on research and objective data based on the impact of the coronavirus on the Nepali film industry, its problems and solutions.
The five-member selection committee considered the four articles as excellent on the basis of evaluation along with the criteria and the winners were awarded cash prizes at the central office of the association on Saturday. The first, second, third and fourth journalists Dhruv Lamsal, Bishnu Sharma, Manoj Neupane and Reena Moktan were given Rs 15,000, Rs 10,000 and Rs 5,000 respectively.
Expressing congratulations and thanks to the selection committee for participating in the program organized by the association, the president of the association Dinesh Sitaula expressed his commitment to organizing similar programs targeting video and photojournalism for capacity building of the members in the coming days. He also said that the association will always fight for the rights and interests of its members.
The association is of the view that the current situation of the film sector and the possibilities to make this sector dynamic in the future will also be the practice and encouragement of the writing profession in film journalists. The association has also given certificates of thanks to Bidur Giri, Shantipriya, Dipendra Lama, Jivan Kumar Parajuli, and Sameer Balami who are on the essay selection committee.
