Thapa and Devkota file their candidacies for Nepal Assembly by-election

KATHMANDU: Central Committee member of the CPN (UML), Ram Bahadur Thapa, has filed his candidacy at Province Election Office, Bagmati Province, Hetauda, today for a vacant seat in the Assembly.
Chief Minister of Bagmati Province, Dormani Poudel, proposed his candidacy while Minister for Social Development, Saraswoti Basnet, seconded it.
Similarly, Dr Khimlal Devkota has also filed his candidacy for the same seat with the support of different parties including the Nepali Congress and CPN (Maoist Centre), according to the Province Election Office, Bagmati Province.
Parliamentary Party leader of the CPN (Maoist Centre), Bagmati Province, Shalikram Jammakattel, proposed the candidacy of Devkota while Chief Whip of NC Bagmati Province, Radha Ghale, seconded it. Province Election Officer, Dilli Ratna Shrestha, said that there are 348 voters in this NA by-poll.
