Supa Net distributed in Banke


NEPALGUNJ: The locals of 15 different VDCs in Banke district that are at high risk of malaria disease have been given ‘Supa Net’ from the Nepal Red Cross Society, Banke chapter.

Some 60,000 nets are distributed to all families in Laxmanpur, Katkuyiya, Kalaphanta, Narainapur, Gangapur, Phattepur, Matehiya, Bethani, Kamdi, Bankatti and Holiya. Likewise, the nets were provided with the aspirant mothers in Baijapur, Binauna, Kachanapur and Khaskushma VDCs.

Similarly, the nets that are knitted with special techniques by fixing medicines were given to the women admitted to the birthing centres in all the VDCs and Bheri Zonal Hospital as well as to the tuberculosis patients who are taking medicines under the DOTS.

After the distribution of the nets, some 94,000 people in the VDCs are expected to remain safe from the malaria. The nets could remain effective for three years now, it is said. RSS
