Sumargi’s company ‘Hello Nepal’ expels employees

KATHMANDU:
Prachanda’s favorite businessman Ajay Sumargi’s company Nepal Satellite Telecom (Hello Nepal) has expelled nearly 3 dozen of employees including technicians and non-technicians, according to Dash Maoist aligned employees’ union. The company is owned by Ajay Sumargi, who is considered to be close with UCPN (Maoist) Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’. The union has warned for the stern protest if the employees are not reinstated to their previous job immediately with due respect.
The expelled officials have also formed a committee under the chair of engineer Birodh Kattel to protest the decision of management. Kattel informed that they have submitted the memorandum to Ajay Sumargi’s wife Ashmita Sumargi, Chairperson of Hello Nepal, at her office which is located in Mukti Tower Kathmandu. He said that they will launch protest against the company and owner if the management wouldn’t reinstate the expelled staff.
The expelled staffs have accused the company owner Sumargi of intimidating them by using his political influence. “Every party’s leader are under my power, I can do to you whatever I like,” an expelled employee said under the condition of anonymity, “he forced us to sign the document and expelled us.”
