The meeting held at the Committee’s Secretariat, New Baneswor, on Wednesday evening has asked the government to make vacancy announcement for 4,171 posts including 1,460 ex-combatants of Maoist choosing integration and other aspirants in the Army, said committee member and Finance Minister Barsha Man Pun.
He further said a decision was made to send 71 ex-combatant officers choosing integration to the officer level and rest in other levels for training of the NA from Wednesday.
Committee member and Nepali Congress leader Dr Ram Sharan Mahat said that the Nepal Army would decide the post of combatants going for integration, he added.
However, Finance Minister Pun said next meeting to be scheduled for November 23 would take a decision on the rank and file since there were differing views on the issue in the meeting.
A directorate-general was supposed to be formed to integrate at least 6,500 Maoist fighters and comprising almost double number from the security organs. However, the numbers of the combatants choosing for integration fell short and the issue was yet to be resolved. Earlier on Tuesday, the government had decided to extend the tenure of the Committee for one more month.
