Some promotions within NA


KATHMANDU: The meeting of the Council of Ministers this evening decided to promote a major general and two brigadier generals of Nepal Army and install them in the posts.

The meeting held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Singha Durbar this evening promoted and installed brigadier general Nirendra Prasad Aryal to the post of major general while colonels Ram Krishna Adhikari and Himalaya Bikram Khatri to the post of brigadier generals.

The meeting also approved the resignation of colonel Umesh Kumar Bhattarai.

Talking to media persons following the meeting, Minister for Information and Communications Raj Kishor Yadav said the Cabinet meeting decided to promote three brigadier generals and three lieutenant colonels and transfer 10 colonels.

Similarly, the meeting decided to accept the grants of Rs17.1 million and additional grants of Rs 320 million provided by the Asian Development Banks to set up service centers for women and children and implement the school sector reform project respectively.

Minister Yadav further said the meeting approved the framework agreement on grant assistance between Nepal and Korean Republic. RSS
