Slovakian women freed from Bamjan’s fanatic, another women missing


KATHMANDU, March 26: A Slovakian national Marichi  who was allegedly held captive by some ‘devotees’ of  Ram Bahadur Bamjam was released in on Monday morning in Lamal Hotel of Simara.

Marichi, 35 was allegedly held captive by Bodi Shrawan Dharma Sangh formed to protect Bamjan, three months back with direct orders from Bamjam. She was accused of distracting Bamjam in his penance.

“It seems Marichi has gone through physical and mental suffering during the period of confinement. Bruises in her body indicate she was beaten,” police personals who had reached said while claiming that the Marichi was afraid to talk with.

Marichi’s hand is fractured and she has severe brushes in her body. Police source further informed that Marichi has denied to discuss her captivity claiming she has promised so to her former captivist.

Media reports claimed that a Sindhupalchowk local identified as Mata Aani has also bee held captive by the Sangh. Both of these women were accused by the Bamjam Sangh as practicing witchcraft.
