
Krishna Prakash Shrestha / MOSCOW: The sixth convention of the Non Residential Nepali Association (NRNA) Russia has unanimously elected the new executive committee led by Dr. Madhu Krishna Shrestha ‘Madhurya’.
Ranga Nath Poudel and Dilli Kharel ‘Suman’ have been elected as the vice-chairperson of the new executive committee, while Mahesh Kumar Khadka became the General Secretary. Similarly, Tej Bahadur Shah, Suman Rijal, Manmurti Bhurtel and Mina Adhikari have been selected as Secretary, Treasurer, Youth Representative and Woman Representatives respectively. Other members of the new executive committe are Kul Bahadur Thapa, Indra Prasad Bhusal, Dhanraj Moktan, Dipesh Dahal, Madan Maharjan, Uttam Lamichhane and Kamal Bashyal.
Similarly, Govinda Prasad Gautam has been elected as the member of NRN International Coordination Committee from Russia. Dr. Badri KC has announced his candidacy for the post of Treasurer of NRN ICC.
Addressing the convention, chairperson of NRN ICC Jiba Lamichhane informed about the convention of NRN-ICC to be held in Kathmandu in October. He informed that the network of NRNs has reached to 65 countries within a decade since its inception. He also highlighted major challenges before the organization. He stressed the need of utilizing the forum of NRNs for the development of the motherland and also appealed all to support in this initiative.
