Sirish donates Rs 100,000 to flood victims


KATHMANDU: National swimming champion Sirish Gurung on Thursday donated Rs 100,000 to the Sunkoshi flood victims.

The young swimming sensation said that he had donated the amount for the people in dire-straits from the cash reward he got as part of the National Sports Talent Award that he recently won on the International Youth Day.

“I use the money I get as part of different awards for donating to social cause. Sunkoshi flood is the calamity that has affected many people who are now compelled to live in the worst condition. I hope that my small donation will be of some help to them and encourage others so support this social cause,” said Sirish.
