KATHMANDU: A crucial hat-trick by spinner Shakti Gauchan washed away the hopes of Denmark in the the ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier in Dubai on Thursday.
Nepal won the match with nine wickets and Shakti set up the first international record in Nepal for his stunt. His first victim was Rizwan Mahmood at 58, next was Aftab Ahmed and the third of his victim was Kamran Mahmood.
The sweep folded the Dannish innings at 82 in 19.1 overs.
“We want to participate in the World Cup, and hopefully we can do well in the rest of the tournament,” said Shakti.
