ILLAM: It is found that some of the local schools, which have been on the verge of closure in lack of students, are still receiving government facilities in the name of fake students.
The mystery came to public when majority of students said to be enrolled did not appear in the district level examinations of grade eight.
According to the District Education Office, a total of 8,327 students were enrolled in the schools of the district, out of which 7,358 had only taken exams.
With this, 969 students were not appeared in the examinations, said lower secondary education examinations committee.
‘The absence of large number of students is doubtful. It is the matter of investigation’, said under-secretary at District Education Office, Gehendra Dahal.
The education sector has witnessed growing anomalies with the wrong tendency of receiving all perks and facilities by preparing fake documents.
The District Education Office is prepared to strictly monitor the wrong trends surfaced in the sector and adopt measure for improvement. RSS
