N24 Correspondent, BAITADI:- Bhagarathi Bhatt, a schoolgirl in western Nepal, is believed to have been killed after being raped.
Preliminary investigation has revealed that Bhagarathi Bhatta was killed after being raped.
Bhagirathi Bhatta, 17, of Dogadakedar Rural Mucnipality-7 of Baitadi was found dead in the forest near her house on Thursday evening.
Police have arrested six people for interrogation in the case of Bhagirathi Bhatta, a 17-year-old girl who was found dead in Baitadi last Thursday.
According to police, they have been arrested for questioning during the investigation into the incident with the involvement of an SSP at the Province Police Office and the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB).
Bhagirathi Bhatt, 17, of Chadepani in Dogadakedar Rural Mucnipality-7 (Katola) of Baitadi was studying in class 12 at Sanatal Dharma Secondary School in Sirkot.
According to Bhagirathi’s friends, she left the school at 2 am on Wednesday. But, like other days, she did not reach home. Friends who dropped out of school told us to cut our hair and walk. When she did not come home, her mother Dropati pleaded for help. However, Bhagirathi was not found.
Chakra Bahadur Karki, Chairman of Dogadakedar Rural Municipality, told about the incident. When they found out that Bhagarathi was missing, they informed the villagers. Police also arrived from a police post near the village. “When I got the news that people had been killed and thrown away, I went too. It was Bhagarathi’s body.”
Chairman Karki said, ‘Bhagarathi was killed in a very horrible way. Seeing that, it is like the murder case after Nirmala Pant’s rape. When we look at it, it seems that both incidents are the same. ‘
Nirmala Panta, 13, of Kanchanpur, who had gone to study at a friend’s house in western Nepal on July 26, 2018, was brutally murdered after being raped. Her body was found in a sugarcane field the next day.
