Ruling parties’ meeting underway; PM to address the nation today


KATHMANDU:
An emergency meeting of the coalition parties is underway at the Prime Minister’s residence Baluwatar. The meeting is being held as the main ruling UCPN (Maoist) has decided to take an initiative for forging the national consensus. There are speculations spreading that the Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai will resign today to pave the way for national consensus government.
Source says that Prime Minister Dr Bhattarai will address in the name of nation today afternoon. Hinting that PM Bhattarai could resign, Finance Minister Barsha Man Pun ‘Ananta’ said that the meeting would take a concrete step for forging national consensus as being a largest party.
Likewise, the meeting of the Federal Democratic Republic Alliance (FDRA) is also scheduled to be held after the meeting of the ruling parties.
A meeting of the cabinet will also be held today at 3 PM.
