KATHMANDU: One day after the UCPN-Maoist has decided to launch second round of campaign targeting the elections of the Constituent Assembly slated for November, pro-royalist Rastriya Prajatantra Party Nepal (RPP-Nepal) Chairman Kamal Thapa has said that reinstatement of the constitutional monarchy and revival of the Hindu state are the ways to give a way out from the ongoing political turmoil in the country.
Addressing a press conference in the Capital on Friday, Thapa informed that the party has proposed to restore constitutional monarchy in a democratic set up, revival of Hindu state, preserving national integrity and economic liberalization in the election manifesto for the forthcoming Constituent Assembly (CA) poll. He also claimed that many people are still in the favor of the monarchy and the Hindu state.
“We will expand party´s organizational set-up at all constituencies and even in the village-level before the first week of October. Currently, training campaigns are underway across the country,” he informed about the preparations of the party for upcoming CA poll. He informed that his party is all set to hold a nine-day ‘national unity march’ across the country to be held from September 11. Likewise, the party is set to hold a six-day “door-to-door” campaign from September 28 across the country.
“We are also holding an eight-day nationwide ‘signature collection campaign’ starting from October 21. We hope majority of Nepalese would give their solidarity for the reinstatement of monarch and the Hindu state,” he added.
He added that it would be a disaster if Baidya would not join the poll process. “The government will be responsible for creating instability in the country if roundtable conference is not held within a week to bring the disgruntled parties in to a confidence.”
He also made it clear that the party is in favor of President taking some initiative for holding the round-table conference to bring all dissenting parties on board for holding the elections of the constituent assembly on time. Meanwhile, the youth-wing of UCPN-Maoist Young Communist League (YCL) has completed preparations for First National Convention of the organization slated for Saturday.
The organization organized a race on Friday with an objective of publicizing the YCL´s first general convention going to be held from Saturday in Kathmandu.
Over one thousand youths including UCPN (Maoist) leader, Barshaman Pun and Lokendra Bistamagar participated in the race. Around 2,000 representatives and observers from across the nation would participate in it, it is learnt.
