KHOTANG: A passenger died and other 14 were critically injured in an accident of Diktel-bound bus from Kathmandu at Halesi.
Praja Bahadur Rai, 32, of Diktel-Rupakot-Majhuwagadhi municipality-7, Dorpachiuridanda died when the commuter bus (Na 4 Kha 7411) carrying 15 people with driver and co-driver met with accident at Halesi Tuwachung municipality-7, Riththabot at 11.00 last night.
Rai who sustained critical injuries died on the way to District Hospital Diktel, confirmed Raj Kumar KC, Deputy Superintendant of Police (DSP) of Khotang District Police Office.
Seven among the injured, including driver were sent to Kathmandu-based Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital for further treatment. Other six injured are being treated at District Hospital Diktel. Identity of the injured is yet to be ascertained.
The bus skidded off the road below 15-20 metres and a big loss was prevented when it got stuck, said Bhuwan Babu Khadka, Inspector of Area Police Office, Halesi. –
