Rescued Nepali people charged more than set airfare asked to report


KATHMANDU:- The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation has urged the passengers stranded in various foreign countries due to global COVID-19, who were charged more than set airfare for rescuing them to home country by international chartered flights, to report about the matter.
The victims in a statement issued by the Ministry have been asked to report the matter to the investigation committee along with official documents with evidences within a week. For this, they can email at the official email address of the Ministry, [email protected]
The Government of Nepal had facilitated international chartered flights for rescuing Nepali people stranded in various foreign countries due to global COVID-19.
The Ministry’s move follows the complaints that Nepali people stranded in foreign countries due to the virus were charged high than set airfare for rescuing them to home country. Following this, the Ministry had formed an airfare committee, 2078 to probe the matter.
Now, a committee has been formed to investigate the matter and seek clarification from the concerned authorities in question as recommended by the airfare probe committee, said the Ministry.
