Record holders climber Kami Rita appointed brand ambassador

KATHMANDU: Record holders climber Kami Rita Sherpa has recently been appointed Himalayan Glacier Adventure’s brand ambassador.
Himalayan Glacier Adventure’s chairperson Sagar Pandey and Kami Rita signed an agreement to this effect on Thursday amidst a function. Kami Rita, who has set world record by setting his foot on the highest peak for 24 times, has also been appointed chief consultant of the same company.
As per the agreement, Kami Rita will be involved as a chief consultant in promoting all the activities conducted by Himalayan Glacier for the next two years. These activities include adventurous trips to the Everest base camp, Island Peak and Mt. Kilimanjaro.
Speaking at the agreement ceremony, chairperson Pandey said the company was proud to have world record holder and renowned climber Kami Rita as its brand ambassador.
Pandey said that the new generation of aspiring tourism entrepreneurs would not be attracted to the tourism sector if this sector did not move ahead with professionalism.
Kami Rita said that many foreign companies had asked him to become their brand ambassador but he preferred to become the brand ambassador for a Nepali company. “I am very happy that I have got a chance to represent a Nepali company- Himalayan Glacier as its brand ambassador.”
Kami Rita scaled the highest peak of the world for two consecutive times in May this year. He has climbed Mt Everest for 24 times, setting a new world record. The Guinness Book of World Records has already honoured him for his enviable feat.
