Reconciliation imperative to implement federalism effectively: PM Deuba


KATHMANDU:- Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has said the reconciliation among political parties and general public is imperative to effectively implement the federalism achieved with long political struggles and movement.
During a programme organized by the BP Museum Committee at Sundarijal on Friday, PM Deuba viewed the national unity and reconciliation propounded and advocated by then leader BP Koirala still bears the significance. “As the President of the largest and oldest democratic party, Nepali Congress, in Nepal, I do not leave any stone unturned to maintain the national unity and reconciliation,” he said, adding that he had revived his vigor and enthusiasm after the recent 14th general convention of the party.
He made a floral offer to BP’s image in the premises of the museum.
On the occasion, committee chair Parshuram Pokhrel stressed that the Nepali Congress leaders and cadres should bear the responsibility by internalizing the values manifested while establishing BP Museum. The jail where BP was imprisoned during party-less system was later changed into the museum.
BP Koirala who was in exile in India had returned Nepal on Poush 16, 2033BS with the policy of national reconciliation. The Nepali Congress marks the reconciliation day every year in commemoration of this very day.
