On June 10, 2012 Rauniyar participated in an interaction cum fundraising program organized by a team of enthusiast grouped under the name “Darshan Rauniyar for Congress.”.
While raising a total election funds amounting to $4027, around two hundred participants interacted with Rauniyar on his vision and plans included in his manifesto.
Though Nepalese emigrants don’t have a long history in the States, Nepali culture has brought Nepalese residing here together in an unbreakable bond.
Rauniyar said that his priorities were centered on respectable work and pay, secure working sphere, health insurance, unemployment insurances, sufficient employment opportunities.
He called on for joining hands to enter the Senate so as to secure these rights instead of thinking them in public and privates spaces.
EDITORIAL NOTE: This version corrects first line of the news which stated “Republican candidate” instead of “Democratic candidate” and corrects the name of the fundraising committee “Darshan Rauniyar Fundraising Committee of Connecticut” instead of “Darshan Rauniyar for Congress”.
