Ratan Jha announces candidacy for NRNA chairman

Purushottam Dhakal, Los Angles: Former General Secretary of the Non-Residential Nepali Association (NRNA), Ratan Kumar Jha, has announced his decision to file candidacy for chairmanship of the association.

Jha made public his decision to contest for the post of the chairman of the Nepali Diaspora organisation at a public interaction program organised in the US Capital Washington, DC on Sunday.

Prior to this, Jha was working as the General Secretary and Adviser of the NRNA ICC. The seventh General Convention of NRNA is slated to be held in Kathmandu on (14-17) October, 2015. The Global conference which will going to held in Kathmandu in October will elect a new leadership for the NRNA for next two years.

Ratan JhaFormer General Secretary of the Association Jha declare his candidacy told us that he wants to divert the wise, skilled and capable Nepali American for the development of the motherland through his leadership.He emphasized that as Nepalese has to pay high labor in the Middle East and the Gulf region with low returns he wants to get rid off such train by creating domestic employment in Nepal with raising capital and skill from the Nepali American in rebuilding the motherland. He considered himself as the common candidate from America too.

For strengthening and institutionalization of non-residential Nepalese movement, for assisting in reconstruction of the damage caused by the devastating earthquake,for safe immigration and strengthening foreign employment, for the investment of knowledge and capital in the motherland, utilization of expertise, and the involvement in the citizenship issue movement to get addressed in new constitution of Nepal since very long are the point he put forward for proving his candidacy suitability. He further told that he wants to unite the non-residential Nepali who are currently scattered around 71 countries more strongly and emotionally.

He hasn’t only told about the capital investment, but also diverts our thought towards creating independent to Nepali citizen with the utilization of skill, knowledge and time by Nepali American. Jha, who was born in Sarlahi district of Nepal is currently involved in construction and real estate business in Texas, USA and he has been involved in the NRN movement from the time of establishment. It has known from the source that his decision to file candidacy is being supported by NRNA America and NRNA founders.

Though the non-resident Nepali campaign in the United States has started a decade back, but could not be institutionalized as expected previously, but these years after the 2014 collective election, it has tremendously strengthened by gaining the highest number of members, Nepali Americans are confident that the contribution played by Mr. Jha has turned this result.

Earlier, NRNA ICC Vice President TB Kakri already filed candidacy for the post of NARNA chairman. The program was organized by the NRNA NCC Virginia Chapter.
