KATHMANDU: Lawmakers in today’s meeting of the House of Representatives have drawn attention of the government on contemporary issues.
Lawmaker Chanda chaudharey of Rastriya Janata Party Nepal(RJPN) demanded that the government make public a report prepared by the commission led by former justice Girish Chandra Lal on the killing of eight police personnel in Tikapur of Kailali district in August 2015.
As soon as the meeting of House of Representatives began today, RJPN lawmakers stoop up from their seats. In response, Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara let the party’s Chanda Chaudhary to speak on behalf of the party.Chaudhary said the government did not make the report public even after a ruling from the House.
Speaker Mahara responded to the demand, saying he had already drawn attention of the government to the issue and hoped that the government would give an answer soon.Then, the lawmakers took their seats and let the House continue its business.
During the zero hour of the meeting, lawmaker Atahar Kamal Musalman demanded to address the demands of nurses as problem has surfaced at health institutions due to their agitation. Similarly, Anil Kumar Jha demanded the government to fulfill demands of temporary teachers and teachers of relief quota. Saying sugarcane farmers have not got appropriate price of their products, Amaresh Kumar Singh raised question why they have been victimized.
Likewise, Asha Kumari BK stressed that government should pay its attention towards snail pace work progress of national pride projects of Far-West state while Umesh Kumar Shrestha asked the government to fulfill vacant quotas of teachers. Khagaraj Adhikari asked response of the delay made in construction of Kaligandaki irrigation project.
