POKHARA: The Magars got Ranjana Thapa Magar as their second Miss Magar on July 9 amid a grand ceremony in Pokhara. The 20-year old Ranajana who is presently pursuing fashion designing in class 12 is a resident of Tanahu, Dulegaunda was crowned from among 23 contestants participating in the contest.
Judges claimed that Ranajana was selected for her commitment to preserving Magar language, culture, and identity along with social harmony.
Anita Thapa Magar (21) became the first runner-up, while Shanti Talija Magar was the second runner-up and Menaka Thapa Magar third runner-up.
Ranaja also bagged cash prize of Rs 25,000, the first and second runners-up Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively.
The competition was organised by the Nepal Magar Association, Kaski and Rebirth Event
