Rana picked up as Nepal Police Chief


KATHMANDU: The government has promoted Additional Inspector General (AIG) of Police Kuber Singh Rana to the Inspector General of Police (IGP), the top post in the Nepal Police.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Thursday appointed Rana as the chief of Nepal Police effective from Friday.

Government’s spokesperson and Minister for Information and Communications Raj Kishor Yadav said that Rana was appointed as the IGP in line with the proposal of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Bijaya Kumar Gachchhadar.

Rana was the senior most AIG in the Nepal Police.
