Rana assumes responsibility of CoAS


KATHMANDU: Chief of the Army Staff (CoAS), Gen. Chhatraman Singh Gurung handed over the responsibility of the Chief of Army Staff to Acting CoAS Gaurav Shamsher J.B. Rana.

CoAS Gurung handed over the portfolio to Rana in the presence of the Generals and officials of the Nepalese Army at a ceremony held at the Army Headquarters today.

Chief of Army Staff Gurung is staying on leave from tomorrow as per the Nepalese Army’s tradition of the Chief of Army Staff staying on leave one month ahead of retirement date.

CoAS Gurung sent a letter to the Ministry of Defence also today recommending Acting CoAS Rana’s name for promotion and appointment to the post of Chief of Nepalese Army that falls vacant on September 9. RSS
