
KATHMANDU:- The death toll from the accident that took place at Lubhughat in Sunapati rural municipality of Ramechhap district this morning has climbed to 13. Four more people succumbed to their injuries this afternoon.
Of the total deceased, nine died on the spot while four died while undergoing treatment Kavre Hospital. Another 22 people have been injured.
The driver of the vehicle with minor injuries has been taken under control by the police.
According to the District Administration Office, Ramechhap, there were 35 were travelling in the bus that met with the accident.
The passenger bus (Ba 3 Kha 8396) heading to Kathmandu from Hiledevi, the center of Sunapati rural municipality of Ramechhap, had met with an accident at Lubhughat of Sunapati rural municipality-5 at around 10 this morning.
Locals have claimed that the accident took place due to brake failure.
Meanwhile, nine of the deceased have been identified. The deceased identified so far are Thula Tamang, 60, Sanju Ale, 36, Khadak Bahadur BK, 36, Samrita Tamang, 26, Bipana Tamang, 22, Shubhalakshmi Manandhar, 60, of Kavre and Kamal Tamang, 27, of the same district. Also identified are Kul Bahadur BK, 40, and Sudip Gajmer, 18, of of Panchkhal, Kavre.
