Ram Thapa and Shesh Ghale likely to fight for top post of NRNA, Bhim Udas also showing interest

Purushottam Dhakal / Virginia- USA : Founder and Patron of Non Residential Nepali Association (NRNA) Ram Pratap Thapa and Shesh Ghale, who was listed as the richest person of Australia, have announced their candidacy for the post of Chairperson of the NRNA during the sixth global conference of the organization.

Ghale made formal announcement following his consultation with representatives of NRNA Australia. Though he was listed among richest persons of Australia he did not have any contribution in the NRN movement. There was mixed reaction in Australia, Europe and America about the candidacy of Ghale. Ghale, who is likely to announce his candidacy during the Europe meeting of the organization scheduled for June 23 in Zurich of Switzerland, claimed that he has clear plan for implementing the issues raised by NRN movement.

Ghale, who is the vice-coordinator of Task force of Joint Investment Task force of NRN, has been involved in various activities of NRN from this year onwards. It is said that his role is very limited for the welfare of Nepali immigrant workers. He was active during the Regional Conference of NRNA held in Sydney last year.

There is a demand of electing Thapa for the top post of the NRNA as he left the position while making consensus in the names of Dev man Hirachan and Jiba lamichane. Chairperson of the apex body of NRNA is being selected through consensus since its establishment. However this time another founder of the organization Bhim Udas has been showing interest to lead the global body of NRNA.
